New EV Manufacturing Unit YEIDA Sector 8D: Overview
- Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) allots a 20,000 sqm plot in Sector 8D to Neenjas Electric for EV component manufacturing.
- Facility to produce on-board EV chargers and solar power banks, focusing on high-capacity power electronics and renewable storage.
- Investment of ₹169 crore; strategic location near Noida International Airport and expressway.
- Supports India’s domestic EV supply chain and clean energy transition; expected to generate local employment.
- LoI handed over by YEIDA CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh to Neenjas MD Vineet Gupta.
Neenjas Electric Secures YEIDA Plot: New Unit to Boost EV Chargers and Solar Storage
The Yamuna Expressway region is emerging as a major hub for electric vehicle manufacturing, and the latest addition is a dedicated facility by Neenjas Electric. On December 27, 2025, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to the company for a 20,000 square meter industrial plot in Sector 8D, near the upcoming Noida International Airport. This strategic allotment will enable Neenjas to set up a specialized unit focused on producing on-board EV chargers and solar power banks, strengthening India’s domestic supply chain for high-capacity power electronics and renewable energy storage systems.
YEIDA CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh personally handed over the LoI to Vineet Gupta, Managing Director of Neenjas Electric, marking a formal step toward project realization. The location in Sector 8D offers significant advantages: excellent connectivity via the Yamuna Expressway, proximity to the greenfield Noida International Airport, and seamless logistics access to Delhi-NCR and beyond. These factors make it an ideal site for manufacturing and distribution in the fast-growing EV ecosystem.
The planned facility represents an investment of approximately ₹169 crore and is expected to generate substantial local employment while contributing to India’s clean energy goals. Products will cater primarily to two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light commercial vehicles, with emphasis on high IP-rated on-board chargers and advanced solar power bank systems engineered for Indian operating conditions—including heat, dust, and variable power supply.
Focus on Critical EV Components
Neenjas Electric’s unit will target two high-demand areas:
- On-board chargers: Compact, efficient units integrated into vehicles for AC charging.
- Solar power banks: Portable or stationary storage solutions combining solar input with high-capacity batteries.
These components are vital for expanding EV adoption, especially in price-sensitive segments like two- and three-wheelers that dominate India’s electrification. By producing locally, Neenjas aims to reduce import dependence, lower costs, and improve the availability of reliable, India-specific solutions.
YEIDA’s Vision for EV Cluster
The allotment aligns with YEIDA’s broader strategy to develop the Yamuna Expressway corridor as a premier EV and allied manufacturing cluster. Rakesh Kumar Singh emphasized, “The Yamuna Expressway region is being developed as a key destination for EV and allied manufacturing. Such projects are expected to contribute to local employment generation and support India’s clean energy transition.”
With the airport set to become operational soon, the area is attracting investments in logistics, components, and assembly. Neenjas joins a growing list of players betting on the region’s infrastructure and policy support.
Why This Project Matters
India’s EV market is booming, but bottlenecks in charging hardware and storage solutions remain. Local production of on-board chargers and solar banks addresses these gaps:
- Faster availability for OEMs
- Customisation for Indian climate and usage
- Job creation in Greater Noida region
- Support for renewable integration (solar + storage)
The ₹169 crore investment underscores confidence in long-term demand as India targets higher EV penetration.
The Road Ahead: From LoI to Production
With the LoI issued, Neenjas can proceed with detailed planning, approvals, and construction. Operations are likely to commence within 18-24 months, contributing to YEIDA’s vision of a self-sustaining EV ecosystem.
As more companies set up in the corridor, the Yamuna Expressway area could become India’s answer to global EV manufacturing hubs—driving innovation, employment, and sustainable growth.
