MoEVing & Tata Motors Power Up: 700 e-SCVs to Revolutionize India’s Last-Mile Delivery
Electric mobility leader MoEVing has joined forces with Tata Motors’ top dealers—Pascos, Johar Motors, and Bhandari Automobiles—to lease and deploy 700 electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCVs) across 10+ major Indian cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Featuring Tata’s Ace EV and Ace Pro EV, this initiative targets e-commerce, logistics, and FMCG, slashing carbon emissions while boosting efficiency. As India’s EV market hits 6% penetration with 2.5M sales projected for 2025, this partnership aligns with PM E-Drive’s ₹10,000 crore charger rollout, driving sustainable last-mile logistics.
Transforming Last-Mile Delivery
The 700 e-SCVs will streamline urban delivery networks, catering to high-demand sectors. “This deployment reduces emissions and enhances efficiency,” said MoEVing CEO Vikash Mishra. The Ace EV and Pro EV, known for reliability, offer ranges suited for city logistics (100–150 km), cutting fuel costs by 50–70% vs. diesel. With India’s 23 lakh commercial vehicles, this move supports the shift to greener fleets.
Strategic Partnership: A Win-Win Ecosystem
MoEVing’s collaboration with Tata’s dealers taps into an integrated EV ecosystem. Tata’s robust e-SCV platform pairs with MoEVing’s fleet management expertise, creating a cost-effective, scalable model. “Businesses access EVs without upfront costs,” Mishra noted, enabling seamless adoption. The partnership mirrors Karnataka’s 1,500-charger plan and Pune’s 22-station rollout, strengthening urban infrastructure.
Leasing: Flexibility Meets Affordability
The leasing model eliminates ownership barriers, offering scalability and low maintenance costs. Businesses can adjust fleets per demand, ideal for e-commerce’s seasonal spikes. Pinaki Haldar, Tata Motors’ VP (SCVPU), called it “a milestone in sustainable last-mile delivery,” enhancing urban sustainability and India’s environmental goals.
India’s EV Surge: A Growing Tide
With 1.2M EVs sold in 2024 and FAME-III incentives, India eyes 30% penetration by 2030. MoEVing’s initiative, backed by PM E-Drive’s 72,000 chargers, supports this vision, reducing urban pollution. The model could inspire similar fleets in Tier-2 cities, amplifying green logistics nationwide.
