A group of engineering students from Mumbai’s Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT) in Versova has achieved an inspiring feat: designing and building a fully electric, Formula-style single-seater race car entirely from the ground up. Named CR11, the track-focused vehicle is the result of nearly a year of dedicated effort by 21 students from mechanical, electrical, and electronics engineering streams.

It features an Agni 119 R motor paired with a 117.7 VDC battery capable of delivering up to 350 amps. Built purely for racing performance—without air-conditioning or road-legal compromises—CR11 showcases the students’ skills in chassis design, powertrain integration, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems.

Student Aayush Palande shared the excitement: “Our car is finally ready after a year of hard work. This was a complete team effort. We designed and manufactured a fully electric race car meant only for racing tracks. Representing RGIT at Formula Bharat 2026 at the national level is a proud moment for all of us.”
