Ador Powertron Unveils 30kW EV Charger Module: Fully Indian, Fully Ready for Fast Charging Boom
Pune-based Ador Powertron has launched the Yonder 30kW AC-DC converter, a 100% indigenously designed and manufactured power module for DC fast chargers, perfectly timed with the PM E-DRIVE scheme’s extension to March 2028. This ARAI-tested unit, compliant with IEC 61851-21-2 and IS 17017-21-2 EMC standards, is stackable for chargers up to 960 kW, powering everything from cars to trucks. With a new assembly line capable of 100,000 units annually, Ador is set to supercharge India’s EV infrastructure, cut import dependency, and support Make-in-India goals amid 2025 localization mandates.
What Makes the Yonder 30kW Special?
This module is a building block for high-power fast chargers. It delivers 96% peak efficiency, a power factor of 0.99 or higher, and uses forced-air cooling to handle India’s extreme heat. When stacked, it scales seamlessly: 16 modules for 480 kW, 32 for 960 kW. Its EMC compliance ensures no interference with other equipment, ideal for off-board EV charging stations. “It’s compact, efficient, and built for real Indian conditions,” said Ravin Mirchandani, Executive Chairman.
Localisation: A Strategic Win
Ador replaces imported sub-assemblies, boosting domestic value addition and stabilizing lead times. With government plans for mandatory localization by the end of 2025 and possible import duty hikes, this move helps CPOs avoid risks. The Pune facility supports quick service and retrofits, reducing downtime. “We’re reducing import reliance and ensuring faster deployment,” Mirchandani added.
Supporting India’s EV Growth
India’s public charging network is expanding in cities, metro hubs, and highways. Modular 30kW blocks allow phased rollout based on demand, cutting upfront costs. High efficiency lowers site energy losses, simplifies grid upgrades, and shortens repair times for 95%+ uptime. With 7.31% EV adoption (1.2M sold in 2024, 2.5M projected in 2025), this aligns with PM E-DRIVE’s 72,300 stations and FAME-III.
Ador’s Expertise: Built on Legacy
Part of the 118-year-old Ador Group, Ador Powertron brings decades of power electronics experience from green hydrogen, emission control, and defense. This informs Yonder’s airflow design, component reliability, and field-service ease. “Our module ensures dependable uptime with local support,” Mirchandani noted.
Why It Matters for India
As chargers face 50% downtime nationally, Ador’s scalable, efficient modules enable robust networks. It complements efforts like Pune’s 22 stations and Karnataka’s 1,500 chargers, driving India toward 30% EV penetration by 2030. This is Atmanirbhar Bharat in action—local, reliable, and green.
