Maruti Suzuki’s Record Exports 2025: 3.95 Lakh Units and 13,000+ e Vitara Shipped Globally
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has wrapped up calendar year 2025 with a resounding triumph in exports, shipping a record 3.95 lakh vehicles worldwide—marking its highest-ever annual performance and a robust 21% growth over 2024. This achievement solidifies the company’s position as India’s top passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth consecutive year, playing a pivotal role in the nation’s “Make in India, Make for the World” vision.
The numbers tell a story of consistent upward momentum: from under one lakh units in 2020 to nearly four lakh in 2025, reflecting expanding global acceptance of Indian-manufactured vehicles. In CY 2025 alone, Maruti Suzuki exported 18 different models to more than 100 countries, spanning Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, ASEAN regions, and Europe.
A standout highlight was the company’s re-entry into Europe with its first battery electric vehicle, the e Vitara. Exports commenced in August 2025 from the Hansalpur manufacturing facility in Gujarat, flagged off in a ceremony attended by the Prime Minister of India. Since then, over 13,000 units of the e Vitara have been shipped to 29 countries, with Europe emerging as the primary destination. The strong demand underscores the model’s appeal in mature markets prioritising sustainability.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, commented, “This is a proud moment for the company as we record our highest-ever calendar year exports of 3.95 lakh units. It reflects India’s manufacturing strength and the trust of customers worldwide. At a time when global trade is passing through a turbulent phase, we regard this 21% growth as a responsible contribution in supporting the nation’s export momentum.”
Key Export Milestones
- Total CY 2025: 3.95 lakh units (+21% YoY).
- Models Exported: 18 across segments.

- e Vitara Focus: 13,000+ units to 29 countries since August; Europe is the leading market.

The success is attributed to improved manufacturing efficiencies, higher localisation, and unwavering quality standards across Maruti Suzuki’s facilities.
e Vitara: Spearheading Electric Exports
The e Vitara’s rapid export ramp-up is particularly noteworthy. As Maruti Suzuki’s debut pure-electric offering (developed with Toyota), it targets global buyers seeking practical, feature-rich EVs. Strong European demand signals acceptance of Indian-built electrics in stringent markets, boosting the “Made in India” brand.
Domestic launch is anticipated soon, likely early 2026, with local assembly ensuring competitive pricing and incentives eligibility.
Why This Record Matters
Maruti Suzuki’s export dominance contributes significantly to India’s automotive foreign exchange earnings and global image. Amid trade challenges, the 21% growth demonstrates resilience and competitiveness.
It also highlights the company’s balanced approach: dominating domestic sales while scaling international presence, now extending to electrification.
The Road Ahead: More EVs and Hybrids
With the e Vitara gaining traction abroad, Maruti Suzuki is poised to further expand overseas volumes through electric and hybrid models. Upcoming launches like Sierra.ev and Avinya will add momentum.
As India aims for greater self-reliance in green tech, Maruti’s export success—from volume hatchbacks to premium EVs—positions it as a flagship for the nation’s automotive ambitions.
